Eligibility / Qualification
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or equivalent (must be obtained before joining).
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to conduct and present research (publications or talks).
- Interest and background in:
- Functional analysis
- Operator algebras
- Mathematical physics (quantum many-body theory)
- Quantum mechanics and its mathematical foundations
- (Optional) Knowledge of Basque language (C1) will be valued.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct research in quantum many-body theory, open quantum systems, and operator algebras.
- Work under the supervision of leading researchers in Spain, Canada, and Italy.
- Participate in BCAM’s comprehensive PhD training program, which includes:
- Periodic meetings and mentoring sessions
- BCAM courses and workshops
- International research stays (Canada, Italy, Brazil)
- Summer schools, seminars, and conferences
- Present research outcomes at international conferences and contribute to academic publications.
Benefits
- Gross Annual Salary: €20,258 – €25,395 (based on experience).
- Mobility Allowance: up to €500.
