Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A PhD in Plant Sciences, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Documented expertise in machine learning and time-series modelling (e.g., LSTM, XGBoost, CNN).
  • Strong programming skills in Python and R.
  • Experience with phenotyping data (imaging, 3D point clouds, or multispectral data).

Job Description:

  • Develop protocols for real-time phenotyping of nitrogen use efficiency (NUE)-related traits using the TraitFinder system.
  • Build and validate digital twin models applying machine learning methods.
  • Conduct virtual “what-if” scenarios for nutrient, water, and light inputs to predict biomass and canopy dynamics.
  • Perform genome-to-phenome analyses for NUE traits.
  • Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and co-supervise master’s and PhD students.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
