Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed doctorate in Industrial Ecology, Circular Economy, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English (minimum C1 level).
  • Specialization in critical raw materials, circular economy, recycling, resource efficiency, or similar sustainability topics is preferred.
  • Experience with metals, mining, metallurgy, or metal recycling is advantageous.
  • Programming skills in Python or a comparable programming language.
  • Strong independent working skills, systematic thinking, creativity, commitment, and teamwork abilities.

Job Description:

  • Develop a modeling framework for material path analysis, addressing the hierarchy of metals, materials, components, products, and scrap.
  • Create a new methodology for calculating material flows, considering process efficiencies based on material flow composition.
  • Investigate new visualization techniques for mixed material flows and paths.
  • Co-supervise research work packages within the ERC project “SEMPATHY.”
  • Engage in independent research to achieve project objectives.
  • Collaborate actively with research partners and contribute to the project’s success.
  • Publish scientific articles and present findings at conferences in English.
  • Prepare project reports.
