Postdoctoral Researcher in Semantic Communication: Aarhus University is seeking highly motivated candidates for a 1-year postdoctoral position, with the possibility of a one-year extension, in the field of Goal-Oriented Semantic Communication and Edge Intelligence.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Documented experience with deep learning techniques (e.g., CNNs, Transformers).
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch).
  • Experience in working with time-series data.
  • Good understanding of IoT and wireless communication networks.
  • Strong publication record relative to career stage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Experience with explainable AI methods and collaborative, cross-cultural research environments is a plus.

Job Description:
Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research on semantic representation and reasoning for time-series data.
  • Designing and implementing Edge AI for real-time analytics and decision-making.
  • Developing energy-efficient, low-latency communication strategies.
  • Publishing high-impact research and participating in outreach activities.
  • Engaging in the NUEI (Nordic University Collaboration on Edge Intelligence) project.
  • Opportunities to co-supervise bachelor’s and master’s thesis projects.
