Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in a relevant field (molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, virology, biochemistry, genetics, or biotechnology).
  • Experience in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or virology is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
  • Motivation and readiness to work with diverse teams and apply for funding.

Job Description

  • Conduct research on antiviral targeting of host cell interactions in alphaviruses.
  • Utilize proteomics datasets to identify host proteins crucial for virus replication.
  • Collaborate with other teams and institutions.
  • Engage in detailed virological, cell biological, or biochemical/structural characterization of selected proteins.
  • Apply for the right to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki within the probationary period, if not already obtained.
