Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Genetics, Immunology)
  • Strong bioinformatic expertise
  • Experience working with CL3 pathogens, especially African trypanosomes
  • Competence in genomic and transcriptomic analysis
  • Ability to handle animal infections and conduct laboratory manipulations

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Study the transmission biology of African trypanosomes and their virulence.
  • Investigate the molecular and genetic basis of virulence adaptation in competing parasite strains during co-infections.
  • Utilize bioinformatics, genomics, and laboratory techniques for selected parasite lines.

This position is full-time (35 hours per week) for a fixed term of 40 months. Flexible working patterns, including part-time and hybrid arrangements, may be considered.
