Eligibility / Qualification
Required:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with material handling and battery assembly in inert atmospheres (e.g., Schlenk line, glovebox).
- Proficiency in electrochemical techniques such as potentiostatic or galvanostatic methods.
- Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a structured environment.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with AC voltammetry or impedance spectroscopy.
- Experience in Raman spectroscopy for solid samples.
- German language proficiency (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Willingness to participate in teaching and supervision of undergraduate students.
Job Description
The selected Ph.D. candidate will:
- Investigate how impurities in solid electrolytes affect ion transport and overall solid-state battery performance.
- Engage in experimental synthesis, electrochemical characterization, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with academic and industrial partners within a larger research consortium.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences (e.g., MRS, ACS, GRC).
- Participate in training programs such as BayNAT for professional and personal development.
