Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A good first degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject.
  • A PhD (or close to submission) in organic chemistry or a related subject.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will focus on:

  • Developing new fluorination reactions using elemental fluorine.
  • Working with industrial stakeholders to assess the utility of F2 as an electrophilic fluorinating reagent.
  • Exploring substrate activation modes and investigating regio- and stereoselectivity of fluorination reactions.
  • Engaging in oral and written communication with both academic and industrial partners.
  • Mentoring and training junior group members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing research activities independently.
  • Publishing high-quality research outputs and presenting findings.
  • Collaborating with the Principal Investigator and research colleagues to identify new research opportunities.
  • Fostering a collegial and inclusive working environment.
