Eligibility/Qualifications
- M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in materials science, chemistry, physics, or related fields.
- Knowledge of semiconductor materials and/or organic electronics.
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to travel within the Schengen region, the UK, and abroad for research and networking.
- Self-motivated with a strong interest in science and fundamental research.
- Team-oriented.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in organic semiconductor processing and characterization.
- Knowledge or experience in doping of organic semiconductors.
- Understanding of photochemistry and/or photocatalysis.
Job Description
The doctoral candidate will:
- Investigate innovative doping strategies to modify the properties of organic semiconductors.
- Conduct optical and electrical measurements to study charge transport and doping effects.
- Implement the resulting materials into functional electronic devices.
The position includes three secondments at:
- University of Bern (Switzerland) – advanced in-operando spectroscopic techniques.
- Molecular Gate (Spain) – methods to image doping profiles.
- Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany) – biocompatibility assessment.
