Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD or equivalent in Food Hygiene, Food Microbiology, or Agriculture with a microbial specialization.
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
- Experience in writing and publishing scientific articles.
- Independently plan and conduct experiments relevant to the subject area.
- Knowledge of microbiological techniques (e.g., cultivation, isolation, PCR-based methods).
- Documented experience with Next Generation Sequencing and bioinformatics.
Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will:
- Conduct advanced research within the field of food hygiene.
- Collaborate with industry partners, growers in Sweden and Denmark, and engage in large-scale trials.
- Optimize cultivation processes and freeze-drying formulations for health-promoting bacterial strains.
- Evaluate the effects of treatments on microbial diversity and ecosystem dynamics during shelf life.
- Participate in teaching (up to 20% of working hours) and supervise degree projects.
- Seek external research funding and manage project-related administrative tasks.
