Eligibility/Qualification

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Sciences, or an equivalent field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and a keen interest in microfluidic technology, biomaterials, and biofabrication.
  • Experience in microengineering, material synthesis, characterization, and relevant techniques is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Enjoyment of teamwork in interdisciplinary research settings.

Description

In this position, you will work at the Leijten Laboratory, where you will develop functional pancreatic tissues. The research will focus on using iPSCs and organoid-forming micromaterials within advanced microfluidic devices to create immunoprotective hydrogel microcapsules. You will explore ways to improve organoid formation and undertake innovative techniques like volumetric 3D bioprinting. The skill set developed in this role will encompass tissue engineering, bioink development, and scientific publication writing.
