Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in geophysics, physics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field
  • Strong background in seismic methods, signal processing, and/or wave physics
  • Experience or strong interest in seismic data processing, imaging, and inversion
  • Good programming skills (Python, MATLAB)
  • Proficient in English; German is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams

Description

This PhD project involves processing and imaging a newly acquired high-density 3D seismic dataset, integrating vintage seismic data, and developing seismic monitoring strategies for CO₂ injection. Candidates will collaborate within a team of scientists and engineers, presenting and publishing findings in international forums. Supervision will be provided by Dr. Cédric Schmelzbach and his team.
