Eligibility/Qualification
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Physics (Condensed Matter, AMO, Quantum Information, or a related field)
- Expertise in quantum many-body theory, focusing on quantum impurity models (particularly Kondo model)
- Strong computational skills (Python, Julia, C++, Matlab, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in numerical techniques (exact diagonalization, tensor-network techniques such as DMRG, TEBD, PEPS) for studying impurity models
- A demonstrated publication record in theoretical quantum physics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in quantum optics, open quantum systems, or rare-earth emitter physics
- Familiarity with strongly correlated electron physics, magnetism, or topological phases
- Knowledge of quantum sensing
- Experience in collaborating with experimentalists
Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will lead the theory component of a research program to develop microscopic models of impurity-host coupling and identify optical signatures of correlated and topological phases. This position offers opportunities for multi-institutional collaboration with experimentalists in condensed matter and AMO fields.
