Research Area

The focus of this position will be on the development of organic redox flow batteries, a next-generation technology for large-scale and sustainable energy storage.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong experience in synthetic chemistry, including route scouting and analytical characterization.
  • Familiarity with energy storage, redox chemistry, or electrochemical applications (prior experience preferred but not required).

Job Description

  • Design, develop, and optimize synthetic routes to organic molecules for flow battery electrolytes.
  • Conduct multistep organic synthesis, purification, and characterization (NMR, MS, elemental analysis, etc.).
  • Explore innovations in methodology, including catalytic transformations and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate with project partners to deliver well-characterized compounds for testing.
  • Present findings at internal meetings and engage in scientific discussions.
  • Support basic electrochemical measurements to link structure and function.
