Research Area
The focus of this position will be on the development of organic redox flow batteries, a next-generation technology for large-scale and sustainable energy storage.
Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Organic Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong experience in synthetic chemistry, including route scouting and analytical characterization.
- Familiarity with energy storage, redox chemistry, or electrochemical applications (prior experience preferred but not required).
Job Description
- Design, develop, and optimize synthetic routes to organic molecules for flow battery electrolytes.
- Conduct multistep organic synthesis, purification, and characterization (NMR, MS, elemental analysis, etc.).
- Explore innovations in methodology, including catalytic transformations and cost-reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with project partners to deliver well-characterized compounds for testing.
- Present findings at internal meetings and engage in scientific discussions.
- Support basic electrochemical measurements to link structure and function.
