Eligibility/Qualification
- Required:
- Doctorate degree (PhD/DVM/MD) in Immunology, Genetic Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience using basic research techniques in the specialty area.
- Preferred:
- Knowledge of tumor immunology principles.
- Understanding of advanced genetic engineering techniques (transfection, retroviral/lentiviral transduction, transposition, CRISPR-Cas9).
- Expertise in functional characterization of CAR T cells.
- Excellent aseptic cell culture technique.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Job Description
As a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Heczey Lab, you will:
- Develop synthetic gene expression switches to overcome immune escape in tumors.
- Work on projects informed by ongoing clinical trials treating patients with CAR T cells.
- Implement tumor-triggered regulatory circuits to protect engineered cells from exhaustion and enhance their survival in the tumor microenvironment.
- Design and conduct experiments while collaborating with lab members.
- Analyze data and present findings at weekly laboratory meetings and research seminars.
- Maintain detailed experimental records in an electronic laboratory notebook.
