Educational BackgroundAbove-average university degree (Master or equivalent) in Physics, Materials Science, or related fields
Knowledge and SkillsGood knowledge in solid-state physics, materials science, and characterization techniques; Initial experimental experience is advantageous
Language ProficiencyStrong command of English, both spoken and written
Additional SkillsKnowledge in finite element simulations, Monte Carlo methods, material characterization techniques, basic programming in Python or C++

Description

The selected candidate will:

  • Investigate the effects of swift heavy ion irradiation on the properties of materials for nuclear fusion applications.
  • Design, build, and commission experimental setups for high-temperature irradiation experiments.
  • Participate in swift heavy ion irradiation experiments and helium implantation campaigns.
  • Conduct systematic Monte Carlo simulations related to fusion power plant conditions.
  • Prepare, present, and publish scientific results.
