Research Area

The successful candidate will work on one or more of the following research areas, depending on interests:

  • Clonal Hematopoiesis & Age-Related Disease
    Studying how age-related somatic mutationsโ€”particularly clonal hematopoiesis (CH)โ€”contribute to disease development and progression.
  • Machine Learning & Multimodal Data Integration
    Applying machine-learning approaches to imaging, clinical notes, and clinical data, and integrating them with multi-omics datasets to uncover novel biological insights.
  • Multi-Omics Methods Development
    Developing new computational and statistical methods to address fundamental challenges in multi-omics data, such as cross-platform concordance (e.g., proteomics), data harmonization, and improved measurement precision.

Eligibility / Qualification

  • PhD (completed or near completion) in a quantitative field such as:
    • Biostatistics
    • Bioinformatics
    • Computational Biology
    • Biomedical Engineering
    • Genetic Epidemiology
    • or a closely related discipline
  • Strong computational and programming skills (e.g., R, Python)
  • First-authored publications demonstrating scientific rigor and creativity

Job Description

  • Develop and apply computational and statistical methods to large-scale multi-omics and multimodal datasets
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research on cardiovascular and age-related diseases
  • Publish high-impact research findings in peer-reviewed journals
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across MGH and the Broad Institute
  • Mentor students and junior researchers and develop leadership skills
  • Contribute to grant writing and research proposal development (for academic-track postdocs)
