Research Area

This position is part of the PERMEATE convergence environment — an interdisciplinary group aimed at solving health and environmental challenges. The project specifically targets peptide-membrane interactions and involves both experimental and computational approaches.

Eligibility/Qualification

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in (Bio)physical Chemistry or closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience with small angle scattering (SAXS/SANS).
  • Experience with model lipid membranes.
  • Proficiency in computer programming.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in theoretical modeling of scattering data.
  • Interest in computational work, like molecular dynamics and numerical methods.
  • Familiarity with dynamic light scattering (DLS).
  • Background in teaching at the university level is beneficial.

Job Description

The postdoctoral fellow will engage in:

  • Characterizing the dynamic and structural effects of peptides on membrane systems.
  • Collaborating with PhD candidates in design and characterization of lipid membranes.
  • Conducting SAXS/SANS experiments and utilizing theoretical modeling.
