Research Area
This position is part of the PERMEATE convergence environment — an interdisciplinary group aimed at solving health and environmental challenges. The project specifically targets peptide-membrane interactions and involves both experimental and computational approaches.
Eligibility/Qualification
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in (Bio)physical Chemistry or closely related field.
- Hands-on experience with small angle scattering (SAXS/SANS).
- Experience with model lipid membranes.
- Proficiency in computer programming.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in theoretical modeling of scattering data.
- Interest in computational work, like molecular dynamics and numerical methods.
- Familiarity with dynamic light scattering (DLS).
- Background in teaching at the university level is beneficial.
Job Description
The postdoctoral fellow will engage in:
- Characterizing the dynamic and structural effects of peptides on membrane systems.
- Collaborating with PhD candidates in design and characterization of lipid membranes.
- Conducting SAXS/SANS experiments and utilizing theoretical modeling.
