Research Area

The research focuses on understanding and improving cellular immunotherapies against cancer with specific emphasis on solid tumors. The research groups aim to analyze cytotoxic lymphocyte biology and its applications in cancer treatments.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A PhD or foreign degree equivalent to a Swedish PhD, completed within the last three years (consideration for earlier completion may be given under special circumstances).
  • Strong background in molecular biology, cell culture, and advanced analysis methods.
  • At least one first-author publication in a recognized peer-reviewed journal.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with human primary T cells, TCR repertoire analysis, single-cell RNA sequencing.
  • Familiarity with immunological methods, animal models, and genome editing techniques.
  • Computational skills including R, Linux, and a programming language such as Java.

Job Description

You will work in an interdisciplinary environment aimed at fostering scientific independence and collaboration. Positions are available to focus on:

  1. Evaluating the potential of human T cell editing and transcriptional rewiring for improved cellular immunotherapy of solid tumors.
  2. Characterizing the TCR repertoire and phenotype of tumor-reactive T cells to elucidate mechanisms of cancer immune evasion.

Candidates will implement experimental workflows involving cell culture, genetic manipulation, advanced flow cytometry, and functional analyses, ultimately contributing to new approaches for cellular therapy in advanced solid cancers.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit the following documents in English through the Varbi recruitment system:

  • A maximum one-page cover letter summarizing motivation for the position and prior experience.
  • A complete curriculum vitae including work history.
