Eligibility/Qualification
- Masterโs degree in applied physics, nanotechnology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related disciplines
- Strong background in micro-scale systems or robotics
- Experience in:
- Optical sensing, photonics, or light-based micro-scale actuation
- Micro- and nano-fabrication (e.g., lithography, MEMS)
- Modeling and control of robotic systems
- Integration of miniaturized sensing and actuation systems
Description
This PhD project aims to create highly miniaturized tools for minimally invasive surgical interventions. It covers the entire process from design and fabrication to experimental validation of micro-scale robotic platforms. Candidates will collaborate closely with the Surgical Robotics Laboratory and the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology, alongside clinical and international partners.
