Postdoctoral Researcher in Archaea Microbiology: The Section of Microbiology at Aarhus University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to investigate the ecology and biochemistry of Asgard archaea. - Proven research experience in microbiology and molecular biology
- Background in microbial metabolism and biochemistry is desirable
- Documented experience in scientific writing and publication in international peer-reviewed journals
- Excellent English skills, both written and oral
Job Description:
The position focuses on the Asgard archaea, the closest prokaryotic relatives of eukaryotes, with limited cultured representatives. You will conduct research on the biochemical properties of Asgard archaea proteins, performing tasks such as:
- Heterologous expression in model organisms
- Protein purification
- Biochemical functional characterizations
- In vivo assays in genetically tractable archaea
