Job Description

The postdoctoral researcher will lead and execute an independent research project within the OPUS-LAP grant titled:
“3D genome re-organization during induced senescence in pancreatic cancer – insights from analysis of single chromatin fibers.”

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting molecular biology and cell culture experiments using pancreatic cancer organoids and degron cell lines
  • Profiling epigenomic and chromatin architecture changes associated with HMGB2 interactors and senescence
  • Performing and analyzing NGS and long-read Nanopore sequencing data
  • Applying advanced chromatin and genome-wide techniques, including:
    • Capture-C, Micro-C, PORE-C
    • WGBS (methylome profiling)
    • DamID (lamin associations)
    • CUT&RUN (e.g., H3K9me3 heterochromatin mapping)
  • Presenting results at group meetings, seminars, and international conferences
  • Preparing manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals

Eligibility / Qualification

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a closely related field
  • Strong expertise in molecular biology and/or biochemistry techniques
  • Experience with genomic approaches (e.g., RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, WGBS)
  • At least one first-author peer-reviewed publication in a relevant field (e.g., epigenetics)
  • Ability to work independently and lead a research project
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with chromatin conformation capture techniques
  • Bioinformatics and computational data analysis skills
  • Hands-on experience with Nanopore sequencing
