This 8-month fixed-term position combines research at Durham University and a secondment at Chiesi Farmaceutici in Parma, Italy.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Qualifications:
- A good first degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject.
- A PhD (or nearing submission) in Chemistry.
- Experience:
- Conducting high-quality research in organic or organometallic chemistry.
- Co-authored at least 2 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Presenting research papers at national/international conferences.
- Experience in homogeneous catalysis and complex organic synthesis.
- Skills:
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong drive and motivation for research.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Allegra Franchino on a collaborative project funded by the EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting research on phosphine ligands for nickel-catalyzed reactions.
- Preparing and characterizing new ligands and their nickel complexes.
- Testing ligands in C–C and C–X bond-forming reactions.
- Preparing high-quality research reports and presenting research findings.
- Engage in collaborative project development and support inclusivity in a research environment.
