Postdoctoral Position in Generative AI: The Bio-Engineering Systems for Therapeutics (BEST) postdoc program seeks a highly motivated candidate to conduct research on adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) for gene therapy, leveraging state-of-the-art generative models in protein design. Postdoctoral Position in AAV Capsid Engineering with Generative AI

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree or equivalent in computational biology, bioinformatics, bio-ML, or a related quantitative field (required)
  • Hands-on experience with modern generative models for proteins (required)
  • Strong interest in hybrid methods combining computational and experimental techniques
  • Excellent communication skills in English

Job Description:

ResponsibilitiesDetails
Generative ModelingDevelop and implement computational workflows for novel AAV capsid design
Dry-to-Wet TransitionParticipate in wet lab validation (e.g., library construction, viral production, NGS screening)
Structural AnalysisUse computational tools to ensure designs maintain structural integrity
Data IntegrationProcess and analyze high-throughput data to refine generative models
CollaborationWork jointly with teams from Roche pRED and ETH Zurich D-BSSE
