Description
This PhD project focuses on:
- Developing dynamic thermal models of sewer heat recovery systems based on experimental data.
- Designing a constrained Model Predictive Control (MPC) strategy to optimize heat recovery while maintaining environmental and operational constraints.
- Incorporating uncertainty in inflow temperature and heat demand into the control framework.
- Validating the performance of the developed control strategies against existing heuristic methods.
Significant collaboration is expected between the two universities, with an emphasis on hands-on experiments and the application of advanced control methods.
