Research Area

The successful candidate will engage in a Royal Society funded project that examines the mechanical determinants of cell fate decisions and tissue dynamics in the context of lung regeneration and fibrosis.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in a relevant discipline (bioinformatics, computer science, applied mathematics, physics, etc.)
  • Strong programming skills in Python and R.
  • Experience in writing bioinformatics and AI/ML analysis pipelines for spatial transcriptomics/proteomics or single-cell genomics.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Desirable: Contributions to open-source bioinformatics projects and knowledge in cell and tissue mechanobiology.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Research Assistant will develop and maintain bioinformatics and AI/ML data analysis pipelines for single-cell and spatial multi-omics data. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing spatial multimodal datasets from patient tissue samples and mouse models.
  • Collaborating with peers in partner institutions and research groups.
  • Providing mentorship and technical supervision to group members on computational techniques.
