Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Research experience in numerical modeling of (multiphase) flow.
  • Preferably experience with CFD tools using URANS turbulence models and Chimera techniques.
  • Interest in academic and project-based research.
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills.
  • Must satisfy the EU Mobility Rule (not resided or worked in Belgium for more than 12 months in the last 3 years).

Description

The selected Doctoral Fellow will:

  • Conduct academic research for a doctoral dissertation on flow-induced vibration simulations.
  • Develop and apply techniques for fluid-structure interaction with contact.
  • Assist in teaching fluid mechanics and numerical simulation courses.
  • Engage in departmental services and participate in training activities within the COMBINE network.
  • Complete 6-month secondments at academic and industrial partners.
