Research Area
Mathematics Applied to Biological Systems
Eligibility/Qualification
- Completion of a doctoral qualification in applied mathematics or an equivalent discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in mathematical modelling.
- Strong programming skills, preferably in languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or Julia).
- Academic research experience demonstrated by publications in high-quality research journals.
- High-level written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Additional Selection Criteria for Level B:
- Experience with biological data analysis in relation to mathematical modelling.
- Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration in biological sciences is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree students effectively.
Job Description
This position involves undertaking research that advances the MACSYS mission, which is the world’s largest focused research initiative in mathematical biology. Responsibilities may also include contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in mathematical sciences.
