Eligibility/Qualification
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- A postgraduate degree per Italian Ministerial Decree no. 509/1999
- A postgraduate degree per Italian Ministerial Decree no. 270/2004
- A degree equivalent to at least five years of university education obtained abroad
Description
The PhD program is designed to establish itself as a reference in education and research on advanced systems engineering. Candidates will engage in independent research, with a requirement to publish in international peer-reviewed journals and present findings at conferences. A stay of at least 3 months at a foreign research center is mandatory. The program adopts an interdisciplinary approach, integrating mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, computer science, and artificial intelligence.
The five phases of the PhD include:
- Phase 1 (First 2 months): Identify research topic and develop a study plan.
- Phase 2 (2nd – 6th month): Conduct literature review and define the research program.
- Phase 3 (6th – 12th month): Implement the defined research approach.
- Phase 4 (12th – 24th month): Continue research, plan foreign stay, and prepare manuscripts.
- Phase 5 (24th – 36th month): Complete research project and submit dissertation.
