Eligibility/Qualification

CriteriaRequirements
Academic BackgroundMaster’s degree (2nd cycle) or equivalent qualifications with at least 240 higher education credits, including 60 credits at the second cycle level.
ExperiencePractical experience in carbon materials synthesis and processing, specifically catalytic graphitization and/or templating.
Language ProficiencyProficient in English (both written and spoken), equivalent to English B/6.

Description

This PhD project aims to develop and validate a scalable and sustainable process for converting biochar into high-performance three-dimensional bio-graphene for use in Li–S battery systems. The candidate will employ techniques such as Fe-catalyzed graphitization and molten-salt templating to create materials with enhanced electrical conductivity, hierarchical porosity, and tailored polar active sites, leading to improved sulfur utilization and long-term cycling stability.

The selected candidate will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and will closely collaborate with experienced researchers and industrial partners.
