Eligibility/Qualification
General Eligibility
- A second-cycle/advanced/master qualification (master’s degree), or
- Courses comprising at least 240 credits with 60 at the master’s level, or
- Equivalent knowledge gained in some other way.
Specific Eligibility
- Proficiency in English equivalent to course English B/English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school.
Required Skills
- Completed BSc in life or natural sciences (biology, molecular biology, physics, chemistry, or similar).
- Completed MSc in interdisciplinary sciences (physical chemistry, biophysics, chemical biology, etc.).
- Strong expertise in biophysics and membrane biology.
- Experience in advanced imaging techniques (especially FLIM, live cell imaging).
- Familiarity with image analysis and scientific programming.
- Basic cell and molecular biology techniques.
Description
The selected PhD student will study cellular biophysics using advanced methodologies, including generating model membrane mimics, cell maintenance, and employing sophisticated imaging and flow cytometry techniques. This position involves close collaboration with members of the CSI:Nano lab and other departments within SciLifeLab and Karolinska Institute, fostering an interdisciplinary research environment.
