Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Benthic Ecology, Marine Biology, or a related natural science discipline; or a Master’s degree with experience in relevant tasks.
- Experience in North Sea infauna and epifauna taxonomy.
- Strong background in multivariate statistical analyses (e.g., R or similar software).
- Proven experience in GIS-based spatial analyses and species distribution modelling.
- Record of peer-reviewed scientific publications.
- Experience in ship-based sampling campaigns.
- Strong independent and collaborative working skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Description
As part of the CONMAR-Habitat project within the Deutsche Allianz Meeresforschung, the research will involve:
- Active participation in research cruises in the North and Baltic Sea.
- Taxonomic identification and quantitative analysis of marine benthic communities.
- Multivariate statistical analysis of community and environmental datasets.
- Spatial analysis using GIS and implementation of species distribution models.
- Preparation of project reports and contributions to interdisciplinary collaboration.
