Eligibility/Qualification
- Completion of PhD in the UK at a UK research organization by 1 October 2026.
- No more than 15 months of active postdoctoral experience by 1 June 2026.
- Teaching-only roles do not count as active postdoctoral experience.
- Applicants must commit to the fellowship full-time unless applying part-time under specific conditions.
Description
The ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships support early-career researchers in consolidating their PhDs through the development of publications, professional networks, and research skills. This fellowship is exclusive to those at the beginning of their postdoctoral careers and does not fund new research projects.
How to Apply
- Identify a mentor through the relevant Pathway Convenor.
- Prepare and submit a Stage 1 application to the designated Pathway by 1 May 2026.
- If nominated, submit the full Stage 2 application to WGSSS by 1 June 2026.
- Include mandatory attachments such as a case for support, justification of resources, and mentorship statement.
