Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree in Molecular Biology or equivalent (minimum 240 credits, with at least 60 at the second-cycle level).
- At least 90 credits in molecular biology, including chemistry, cell and molecular biology, genetics, and microbiology.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written).
- Previous laboratory experience in molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, and/or infection biology is a strong merit.
- Experience in molecular cloning, human cell culture, and fluorescence microscopy is beneficial.
Description
The PhD student will work in the Sixt lab, affiliated with the Department of Molecular Biology, MIMS, and UCMR. The project focuses on Chlamydia trachomatis, an obligate intracellular pathogen responsible for significant infections. The research will utilize various approaches—cell biological, genetic, proteomic, lipidomic, and microscopic—to understand inclusion stability. This knowledge may pave the way for future therapeutic interventions.
