Description

The PhD candidate will conduct a comprehensive, observation-based long-term analysis of permafrost thaw dynamics in Arctic regions, focusing on lake-rich landscapes. Responsibilities include:

  • Imagery Handling: Acquire, preprocess, and analyze historical Earth Observation imagery.
  • AI/ML Feature Extraction: Use AI/ML models to identify and map permafrost landscape features.
  • Workflow Adaptation: Develop workflows to extend analysis to recent imagery, quantifying permafrost disturbance dynamics.

The position is part of the PeTCaT research initiative, requiring collaboration with international experts and presenting findings at scientific meetings.
