Job Description

The Research Associate will perform high-throughput production of miniproteins for characterization assays and in vitro experiments. Responsibilities include:

  • DNA cloning and transformation in bacteria.
  • Bacterial culturing and preparation of lysate.
  • IMAC purification of miniproteins and characterization.
  • Operating liquid handler lab equipment (e.g., Hamilton, Biomek i-series robots).
  • Supporting characterization of miniproteins to assess quality and purity through techniques like SDS-PAGE and fluorometric quantification.
  • Preparing internal reports, presentations, and technical documents.
  • Conducting routine maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Actively participating in internal team meetings and contributing to a positive biotech culture.

Eligibility/Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Solid knowledge of recombinant protein production, from expression to purification.
  • Familiarity with microbial culture and protein purification techniques (affinity chromatography, ion exchange, size exclusion, etc.).
  • A strong understanding of molecular biology techniques (PCR, Golden Gate assembly).
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
