Job Description
The Research Associate will perform high-throughput production of miniproteins for characterization assays and in vitro experiments. Responsibilities include:
- DNA cloning and transformation in bacteria.
- Bacterial culturing and preparation of lysate.
- IMAC purification of miniproteins and characterization.
- Operating liquid handler lab equipment (e.g., Hamilton, Biomek i-series robots).
- Supporting characterization of miniproteins to assess quality and purity through techniques like SDS-PAGE and fluorometric quantification.
- Preparing internal reports, presentations, and technical documents.
- Conducting routine maintenance of lab equipment.
- Actively participating in internal team meetings and contributing to a positive biotech culture.
Eligibility/Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Solid knowledge of recombinant protein production, from expression to purification.
- Familiarity with microbial culture and protein purification techniques (affinity chromatography, ion exchange, size exclusion, etc.).
- A strong understanding of molecular biology techniques (PCR, Golden Gate assembly).
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
