Academic BackgroundRelevant higher degree (Master’s degree, cand.med.vet, or equivalent) in food science, biotechnology, microbiology, or related fields.
GradesMaster’s GPA B or better; thesis grade B or better.
SkillsGood presentation skills; proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Desired ExperienceExperience in fermentation, starter cultures, food processing, proteomics, or food analysis.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Characterize the bioprotective potential of selected bacterial strains in food-relevant substrates.
  • Investigate how processing conditions affect bioprotective mechanisms.
  • Identify molecular and regulatory drivers of antimicrobial activity and functional stability.
  • Validate performance in pilot-scale fermented food systems at FoodPilotPlant Norway.
  • Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences.
