Research Area

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in analytical chemistry, microfluidics, chemical engineering, robotics, biomedical engineering, or related field
  • Experience in microfluidics, specifically segmented slug flow
  • Proficiency in programming (preferably Python and LabView)
  • Strong interest in metabolomics and NMR
  • Good to excellent proficiency in English

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Studying slug stability of organic solvent slugs (e.g., acetone, acetonitrile, chloroform) in various push solvents for detecting apolar metabolites using segmented flow NMR.
  • Developing novel NMR flow cells to investigate how flow-cell design influences slug stability.
  • Advancing the automation of liquid handling platforms, including pump control, slug detection, and feedback loops.
  • Demonstrating the system’s applicability through use cases in biotechnology and healthcare.
