Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment.
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Fellow will engage in scholarly activities and research under the mentorship of a senior faculty member. The role involves investigating innovative methodologies for reducing carbon emissions in civil engineering materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and contribute to ongoing projects on low-carbon infrastructure.
- Collaborate with faculty on publications and presentations.
- Support the department’s mission in advancing civil engineering practices through sustainable methods.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience with cement and concrete chemistry, reinforced concrete structures, computational mechanics, and solid mechanics.
- Strong analytical skills, including familiarity with SEM, TEM, XRD, TGA, FITR, NMR, and ICP-OES.
- Experience in multiscale characterization of concrete is preferred.
