Eligibility/Qualification
- Applicants must be of non-Japanese nationality.
- Full-time employment in their home country with the intent to return after the fellowship.
- Must hold a Ph.D. at the time of application.
- Must be 45 years old or younger (born in or after 1981).
- No prior long-term experience in Japan, except for brief visits.
- Acceptance from a host institution in Japan is mandatory before applying.
- Proficient in English or Japanese.
Job Description
The selected fellows will engage in a six-month research program from June 2027 to March 2028. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting research in the chosen field under the guidance of a host professor.
- Developing a comprehensive research plan, detailing methodology and benefit to the home country.
- Collaborating with the host institution in Japan.
Financial Support:
- Monthly allowance of JPY 220,000.
- Arrival fund of JPY 120,000.
- Round-trip economy class airfare.
- Overseas travel insurance.
