Eligibility/Qualification
- A Master’s degree in climatology, meteorology, earth science, hydrology, computer science, environmental science, or an equivalent field.
- Strong coding skills in Python and eagerness to acquire advanced skills in high-performance computing.
- Experience in system dynamics, earth system modelling, and statistics is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
Job Description
As a PhD candidate, you will:
- Develop new modelling tools to represent complex interactions between climate, environment, society, and human adaptive behavior.
- Execute simulations under various climate and non-climate counterfactuals.
- Analyze the impact of compound events.
- Provide tools and knowledge for systemic impact assessment to stakeholders.
- Present research findings at scientific conferences and publish results in journals.
- Contribute to teaching and supervising Bachelor and Master programs.
