Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completion of a doctoral degree or equivalent by the application deadline.
- Priority for candidates who obtained their degree no later than three years prior (exceptions for special reasons like illness or parental leave).
- Extensive laboratory experience with molecular and biochemical methods.
- Good English language skills.
- Experience with large data set analysis and ChIP-sequencing is an advantage.
Job Description:
This research project will investigate the function of GOLDEN2-Like2 (GLK2) in unlocking chromatin at photosynthesis-associated loci, enabling gene expression activation during plant greening. Key tasks include:
- Assessing GLK2 occupancy at inaccessible chromatin regions.
- Conducting biophysical investigations of GLK2-DNA interactions using single-molecule C-Trap force spectroscopy.
- Analyzing the functional consequences of variations in GLK2 activity in planta.
The goal is to advance fundamental understanding of plant development and chromatin regulation.
How to Apply:
Applicants should submit the following documents:
- A personal letter detailing qualifications, experiences, and motivation (max 2 pages).
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a complete publication list.
- Certified copies of the doctoral degree certificate (or documentation of expected completion).
- Relevant degree certificates and transcripts.
- Additional documents as desired.
Applications should be submitted in English (preferably) or Swedish through Umeå University’s electronic recruitment system: Umeå University Application Portal. All documents must be compiled into a single PDF file.
