Eligibility/Qualification

  • Degree: Completed academic university degree at master’s level in:
  • Computer Science
  • Medical Informatics
  • Data Science
  • Bioinformatics
  • Computational Science
  • Languages: Good written and spoken English; German at least C1 level for clinical collaboration.
  • Skills:
  • Solid programming skills in Python
  • Initial experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Initial practical experience in machine learning, data analysis, or medical data processing
  • Approach: Structured and learning-oriented, strong in teamwork

Job Description

You will work within an interdisciplinary team and your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting PhD research in the xMDT-HPB project
  • Familiarizing yourself with clinical data and relevant standards (MII / FHIR)
  • Designing, implementing, and documenting research prototypes
  • Developing and evaluating methods for explainable, multimodal AI systems
  • Building and maintaining reproducible experiments and analyses
  • Collaborating with clinicians and software engineers
  • Preparing research findings for publications and conferences
  • Contributing to open-source software and technical documentation
