Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD in biology with a specialization in plant molecular biology or relevant research areas.
- Documented knowledge and expertise in chlorophyll biosynthesis and chloroplast development.
- Experience with barley chlorophyll mutants.
- Proficiency in bioinformatic pipelines, molecular genetic, and biochemical analyses of plants.
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
Job Description
The successful candidate will conduct research focusing on genetic and molecular mechanisms behind chlorophyll biosynthesis and chloroplast development in barley. Responsibilities include:
- Characterization of barley chlorophyll mutants through genetic analyses, genomic sequencing, and biochemical analysis.
- Collaboration within a research team and participation in teaching activities (up to 20%).
- Participation in international conferences and publication of research findings.
- Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students.
- Seeking external research funding with a goal of transitioning to an independent researcher.
