Job Description
The selected PhD student will work on:
- Synthesizing polymeric composites (e.g., natural rubbers with conductive particles).
- Conducting microscopic and rheological characterizations.
- Performing mechanical tests (viscoelastic, fatigue-fracture tests).
- Testing polymeric composites for electric and magnetic actuations.
- Targeting applications in smart vehicles, including:
- Changing tread pattern or groove depth
- Enhancing aerodynamics and surface textures
- Noise cancellation (vibration)
- Modifying mechanical properties (hardness)
Resources include advanced soft polymer fabrication (3D/4D printing) and characterisation equipment.
