Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or related fields.
- Strong skills in laboratory techniques pertinent to molecular/cell biology, biophysics, and biochemistry.
- Prior experience in structural biology and light microscopy is desired.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Fluency in English (C1 level as per CEFR) is required, ideally supported by a certification.
Job Description
As a PhD student within the Vercellino group, your tasks include:
- Expression and purification of mitochondrial membrane protein complexes in bacterial and eukaryotic (yeast and mammalian) cell systems.
- Biochemical and biophysical characterization of the complexes.
- Cryo-EM sample preparation, data collection, and structural determination.
