Eligibility / Qualification

Required Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Immunometabolism, Rheumatology, or a closely related field obtained within the last two years.
  • Candidates nearing completion of their Ph.D. are also encouraged to apply.
  • A minimum of two first-author peer-reviewed publications.
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Multi-color flow cytometry
    • Immune cell isolation
    • Tissue culture
    • ELISA
    • Western blotting
    • Molecular cloning
    • Immunoprecipitation
    • Immunofluorescence
    • si/shRNA or CRISPR technologies
    • Animal handling and dosing techniques
    • Histochemical evaluation
  • Experience working with mouse models of acute or chronic inflammation such as:
    • ARDS
    • Osteoarthritis (DMM, ACLT, MIA)
    • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
    • Gout
    • Myositis
    • Related inflammatory disease models
  • Proven ability to independently manage research projects from conception to publication.
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
    • Seahorse Bioanalyzer-based metabolic flux analysis
    • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
    • LC-MS utilization and data analysis

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Scholar will:

  • Investigate mechanisms of metabolic and bioenergetic adaptation in macrophages.
  • Conduct in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro experiments using human and mouse immune cells.
  • Work with patient-derived tissue samples to study inflammatory diseases.
  • Design, execute, and interpret complex biological experiments.
  • Contribute to project development and scientific innovation.
  • Present research findings at laboratory meetings and scientific conferences.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Publish findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
  • Serve as a co-author on laboratory publications.
  • Assist with mentoring and supervisory activities when required.
