Research Area

The project focuses on sustainable water service design, specifically:

  • Field investigations to measure/analyze water usage in healthcare buildings.
  • Data-driven modeling of cold and heated water demand patterns.

  • Translation of findings into practical design guidance for industry.

Value and Duration

  • Stipend: $37,450 per annum (2026 rate, tax-exempt).
  • Top-up: Fixed $10,000 per annum (tax-exempt).
  • Relocation: $500–$1,500 for interstate students.
  • International Students: Tuition fees offset for four years and single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
  • Duration: Available for three years (four years for international tuition fee offset).

Eligibility and Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Meet Deakin’s PhD entry requirements.
  • Enroll full-time.
  • Hold an honours degree (first class) or an equivalent master’s degree with a substantial research component.
  • Possess a background in engineering (civil, mechanical, environmental, or related).
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis or modeling.
