Research Area

Eligibility & Qualifications
- Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) or anticipate completing their degree before the start of the fellowship (no later than June 15, 2027).
- A fellowship contract will only be issued upon providing proof of a successful PhD defense.
- Note: Researchers already employed at ISTA before September 1, 2026, are not eligible to apply.
Job Description
As an ISTA-Fellow, you will:
- Perform innovative basic research in your field.
- Work alongside world-class supervisors and colleagues.
- Have access to cutting-edge shared scientific facilities (including imaging, optics, cryo-electron microscopy, nanofabrication, and more).
- Receive full social security coverage and benefit from institutional support, including family services and onsite daycare (subject to availability).
- Work in an international environment where the official language is English (German-language courses are available).
