Job Description

As a PostDoc, you will contribute to the design and development of chemical diagnostic reagents. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing and synthesizing complex oligonucleotide-conjugates and small molecular entities.
  • Establishing DNA-templated proximity reactions to test new reagent classes.
  • Collaborating with project partners across biology, analytics, and sequencing test development teams.
  • Planning, executing, and analyzing experiments independently.
  • Presenting research progress internally and representing Roche at scientific conferences.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in (bio)organic chemistry, chemical biology, or life science.
  • Technical Skills: Profound experience in organic synthesis and the synthesis of oligonucleotide-conjugates (specifically involving proteins, peptides, or nucleic acids).
  • Hands-on Experience: Expertise in DNA-templated reactions, proximity reactions, and nucleic acid detection.
  • Research Output: Must have at least one first-author publication in a high-impact journal.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary and intercultural team.
  • Language: Excellent English skills (German is not required).
